Here at ScholarPrep, we talk a lot about the importance of job shadowing and internship opportunities for students to build their resume and to gain experience in their career field. We feel so strongly about this that we have decided to start an internship program here at ScholarPrep. Today, we are excited to introduce you to our new marketing intern, Heather!

Tell us a little bit more about you, Heather!
Where will you be attending college and why?
I am attending the University of Minnesota Duluth. Throughout high school, I toured multiple colleges and after my first tour of UMD all I wanted to do was go back. The city, people, majors, and opportunities they had to offer aligned perfectly with what I wanted in a college. So I knew it was the college for me.
What career options are you thinking about?
At UMD I am studying in the Labovitz School of Business and Economics. Within that, I am looking into majoring in marketing analytics.
What is one thing that makes you unique?
I bring my planner everywhere and I love it! It allows me to plan out my day, week, or month in order to stay organized. Many people, even my sister, have tried to switch me to a mobile app but I need to have the planner physically in front of me.
What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?
I love playing fetch with my chocolate lab, Cocoa. It seems to be her favorite thing to do in her free time as well!
What advice would you give other students starting to plan for college?
Scholarships are everywhere so make sure each month you are applying, applying, applying!
What is your favorite vegetable?
That would definitely have to be carrots with coconut oil cooked on the grill. I love summertime because our family will have grill outs and the famous carrots quite often!
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
That is a major toss up, I recently went to New York City and loved it there but if I could go somewhere new I would choose Bora Bora. Everything there looks so perfect and peaceful from the crystal clear water to the overwater bungalows. I would definitely want to go to Bora Bora!
